Medicaid Policy Director

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Medicaid Policy Director to join the team of a leader in the Legal & Accounting space. This role will lead Medicaid policy strategy and advisory work for clients navigating complex federal and state program requirements. You will translate regulatory updates and guidance into practical implementation approaches that support compliance, operational clarity, and sound decision-making. The position also calls for collaboration across client teams and internal stakeholders to advance thought leadership, support business development efforts, and strengthen the team's Medicaid capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Help clients implement new programs and ensure compliance with federal requirements
• Document and present analysis to clients regarding Medicaid policies
• Support the team's growth by sharing Medicaid expertise
• Engage in marketing initiatives by developing content and budgets
• Provide feedback on materials created by the team to foster collective improvement

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience, including 10 years in Medicaid, with at least 4 years in a state Medicaid agency or CMS
• Experience analyzing regulations and guidance for program implementation
• Familiarity with Medicaid payment authorities like waivers and state plans
• Ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics within the Medicaid program
• Skilled at translating billing requirements into actionable recommendations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay

$160,000 – $180,000 annually
