Medicaid Director

About the role

The ND Department of Health & Human Services is seeking a Medicaid Director in Bismarck, ND. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and/or moving expenses.

Responsibilities

• Leading one of the state's most significant healthcare programs
• Helping shape the future of healthcare delivery across North Dakota
• Ensuring high-quality, accessible, and sustainable services that improve health outcomes, strengthen communities, and support a more efficient healthcare system
• Overseeing Medicaid policy, operations, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, provider engagement, and program transformation
• Partnering with healthcare providers, health plans, community organizations, tribal nations, state and federal partners, and agency leadership to advance innovative solutions that improve access to care, address health disparities, and create healthier communities
• Driving North Dakota's journey toward becoming the healthiest state in the nation

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree and five years of senior/executive management level experience in the administration of Medicaid programs, other major human service funding, or reimbursement programs (such as Public Assistance, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program [SNAP], Child Support, etc)
• OR a Bachelor's degree and five years of senior/executive level management experience in healthcare administration including extensive experience with Medicaid regulations and reimbursement
