Medicaid Policy Director
About the role
BerryDunn is seeking a Medicaid Policy Director to join our Medicaid consulting team focused on state Medicaid agencies. You will leverage your state and federal Medicaid policy expertise to help Medicaid agencies implement new programs and administer their program. You will work remotely, hybrid, or in one of our offices, serving clients nationally. Travel to client sites can range up to 50%.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, document, and present policy analysis to clients to help them implement new programs and manage compliance with federal requirements.
- Plan for and implement new guidance and programs, including preparing applications for grants and additional funding opportunities.
- Partner with the team to share Medicaid expertise while supporting client needs and helping the team grow in their knowledge of Medicaid.
- Engage in marketing and business development by applying Medicaid policy expertise to the development and review of content and budgets, including providing feedback on content created by others.
- Translate complex claims and billing requirements into actionable business, policy, and technical recommendations for clients.
Requirements
- 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 10 years in Medicaid.
- At least 4 years of experience in a state Medicaid agency with progressive leadership responsibility, or at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Experience analyzing regulations and sub-regulatory guidance to inform program direction and managing projects to implement program changes.
- Experience working with Medicaid payment authorities such as waivers and the state plan.
- Ability to navigate the dynamics of interests among Medicaid stakeholders, including members, providers, health plans, and federal partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and team skills.
Pay
The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000. Final salary will be based on factors such as experience, education, depth of expertise, seniority, merit, training, travel requirements, and other relevant business considerations.
