About The Role The Medicaid Program Director will provide leadership for Medicaid programs, initiatives, or client engagements. Depending on the opportunity, responsibilities may focus on program operations, policy implementation, managed care, quality improvement, eligibility and enrollment, or organizational performance. We welcome professionals with experience in state Medicaid agencies, health plans, healthcare organizations, government contractors, and related organizations. Applicants do not need to have held a director title if they bring comparable leadership experience. Responsibilities Lead Medicaid programs, initiatives, or improvement projectsDevelop program plans, establish priorities, and oversee executionManage multidisciplinary teams, partners, and subject matter expertsGuide policy implementation and operational improvementsMonitor program performance, budgets, risks, and deliverablesCoordinate with agency leaders, providers, health plans, and other stakeholdersTranslate program requirements and analytical findings into practical recommendationsDevelop reports, presentations, and implementation plansSupport opportunity assessment and proposal development when relevant Requirements Substantial experience supporting U.S. Medicaid programsExperience leading teams, programs, or complex initiativesKnowledge of one or more Medicaid areas, such as managed care, eligibility, benefits, provider operations, quality, policy, or long-term services and supportsStrong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skillsAbility to turn program objectives into measurable actions Preferred Experience Leadership within a state Medicaid agency or Medicaid managed care organizationProgram implementation, transformation, or operational improvementOversight of government contracts, vendors, or interagency initiativesExperience presenting recommendations to senior executives or public-sector leaders Benefits We are recruiting for current and anticipated opportunities; immediate placement is not guaranteed.
