Director, Finance - Medicaid

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Finance - Medicaid to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will lead financial planning, reporting, and analysis for Medicaid-related operations, with a strong focus on budget management, performance targets, and cost trend evaluation. The position partners closely with corporate and state functions to interpret financial results, support strategic and operating plans, and provide clear insight into variances and initiatives. It also requires monitoring legislative changes that may affect financial operations and ensuring business processes and systems support accurate, timely financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor business processes and systems for accuracy
• Oversee accurate and timely financial report preparation
• Review and present strategic plans and operating budgets
• Establish performance targets linked to business objectives
• Provide financial planning for variances and initiatives
• Interpret financial reports and identify cost trends
• Serve as the financial contact for corporate and state functions
• Monitor legislative impacts on financial operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or finance-related roles
• Proven management experience in hiring and performance management
• Healthcare finance experience, including cost trend analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, and Power BI
• MBA and/or CPA preferred
