Medication Assistance

We provide comfort of home to independent elders, with leisurely access to delicious & nutritious meals, wellness & social activities, assistance with tasks of daily living, and medication assistance. We seek PCA's for immediate hire.

Responsibilities

• Count controlled substances and report any missing items to Administration.
• Prepare medication and bring it to the dining room during meal times.
• Assist residents with medication, including those needing medication before breakfast, afternoon, or after dinner.
• Administer injectable medication under supervision, ensuring the resident safely disposes of the remains into a sharps container.
• Document medication administration in the MAR and ensure it matches the physician's orders.
• Update the MAR as needed after a physician's visit.
• Contact doctor offices for necessary clarifications and prescription refills.
• Record all pertinent information in the 24-hour logbook.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Preferred prior experience with medication assistance and with the elderly population.

Qualifications

• Positive, dependable, and caring personality.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
• Physical and emotional stamina to support residents in their daily living skills.
• Availability on all days of the week due to shift scheduling requirements.
• Interest and willingness to pursue personal academic growth.
• Self-control in speech, listening, body, and facial mannerisms.
