About the role
The role of a Medication Aide/Med Tech involves administering medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity to residents in a senior living environment. This role is vital for ensuring resident safety, preventing medication errors, and early detection of health changes, contributing to quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Follow physician orders and adhere to the Six Rights of Medication Administration
- Administer medications and treatments accurately
- Document accurately in MAR/TAR
- Monitor residents during and after medication passes
- Report concerns promptly
- Complete narcotic counts
- Maintain clean medication carts
- Follow infection control and safety standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Age 18 or older
- Medication Administration certification
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Qualifications
- Preferred experience in senior care
