About the Role

As a mid- to experienced-level Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC design at Henderson Engineers, you will contribute your expertise to projects across six market sectors: Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects for some of the biggest names in the industry while supporting our growing refrigeration design needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations and design basic to advanced engineering systems with a high degree of independence.
  • Prepare mechanical system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Review shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
  • Research and recommend the feasibility of systems or equipment; evaluate products for their application.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with strategic partners and customers to support business development.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous learning, including industry software such as Revit, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Office Products.
  • Support or lead project coordination activities, including managing emails, coordinating scope and schedule, attending client meetings, ensuring project quality, and responding to client questions.
  • Act as a resource for training or assisting others as needed.

Requirements

  • Mid-Level (II): Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering (e.g., mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) preferred and 3 years of relevant experience, or 5 years without a degree. A Professional Engineering (PE) license may count toward 1 year of direct experience.
  • Experienced Level (III): Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of engineering preferred and 7 years of relevant experience, or 9 years without a degree. A Professional Engineering (PE) license may count toward 1 year of direct experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and HVAC design software (e.g., IESVE, Trane Trace).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Completion of FE exam, LEED, and/or WELL accreditation.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering design, A&E industry standards, codes, and design guides.

Pay

Individual salaries may vary based on factors unrelated to the applicant’s race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability. Geographic cost of labor differentials may also impact salary ranges. Below are the salary ranges for specific locations:

  • Denver: $83,600 to $145,200
  • Las Vegas: $92,400 to $119,700
  • Los Angeles: $88,160 to $153,120
  • New York: $92,720 to $161,040
  • Washington DC: $88,160 to $153,120
