Mechanical Engineer Level 3 (Mechanisms Design)

Responsibilities
- Develop spacecraft motion control and actuation systems
- Mechanical systems design including bearings, gears, motors, and rotating mechanisms
- High reliability mechanical design and analysis for aerospace applications
- Generate design documentation and vendor specifications
- Support assembly and test including environmental testing, shock, vibration and thermal
- Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes
- Proactively identify roadblocks to technical progress and take steps to mitigate/avoid
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience designing moving mechanisms
- Proficient with computer aided design and analysis tools (SolidWorks preferred)
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications:
- M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience working in aerospace
- Experience with electronics packaging and wire harnessing
- Experience with LabVIEW and Matlab
- Experience leading a design team with or without direct reports

Pay
Base Pay Range for CO applicants is $110,938.00 - $155,312.85. Other site ranges may differ.
