Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
- Investigates solutions to product or process problems.
- Work with the project managers and project engineers to ensure that design input into cost, schedule, and other project-level decisions is accurate and complete.
- Perform mechanical development, design, engineering changes, drawing packages, on multiple projects through all phases of development and manufacturing.
- Must have strong proficiency in creation and review of U.S. Navy technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
- The ability to work independently, and yet be able to collaborate with other design disciplines and with guidance from team leadership.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate ideas and concepts in both written and oral form.
- Be fully capable of working in design teams to assist in meeting the project goals in a team-focused environment.
- Perform trade studies, design of experiments, assembly and testing of parts, components, and assemblies.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in CAD, Solidworks, Haystack, CMPRO, Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Evaluate project reliability, safety, and performance.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Active Secret Clearance is a big plus.
- Three (3) years of experience working 3 years of prior relevant experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
- Experience supporting government projects and working closely with Program Managers.
- Experience conducting rapid trade studies and analysis of mechanical solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks Design Environment and Product Data Management (PDM).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
