This position is located in Melbourne, FL, and involves contributing to the research, design, analysis, manufacture, and testing of aircraft Support Equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design of test, measurement, and handling equipment used on military aircraft.
  • Gather data, develop requirements, interface with suppliers, and perform basic stress and tolerance analysis.
  • Act as manufacturing liaison during the build process to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Develop test plans and perform environmental testing of Support Equipment.
  • Test and integrate manufactured Support Equipment on aircraft.
  • Apply basic knowledge of design and analysis tools for mechanical design, including solid modeling techniques (NX, Pro Engineer, or Catia).
  • Occasionally travel to various site locations to demonstrate the function of designed Support Equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university.
  • Experience using CAD software to generate detailed engineering drawings for manufacturing mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
  • Active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Qualifications

Level 2

  • 2 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience.

Level 3

  • 5 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Experience using FEA software for stress analysis of mechanical and/or electrical assemblies, including static and dynamic analysis to MIL-STD-810 requirements.
  • FAA A&P Certificate or equivalent aircraft maintenance background.
  • Experience developing manufacturing drawings to GD&T standards.

Pay

Primary Level (Level 2) Salary Range: $72,100.00 – $108,100.00

Secondary Level (Level 3) Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00

The salary range represents a general guideline. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
