About the Role

This role is for a Mechanical Engineer II focused on Corded/Cordless Products, embedded in the early-stage innovation phase. You’ll drive the front-end technology and feasibility roadmap, turning ambiguous consumer problems into working prototypes and product roadmap decisions.

Responsibilities

• Drive the front-end technology and feasibility roadmap for Corded/Cordless Products, collaborating with engineering, industrial design, brand, and test kitchen teams across the US, UK, and China.
• Build proof-of-concept rigs and functional prototypes to stress-test ideas early, before full development investment.
• Work across the full system: mechanical design, sensors, software, batteries, and connectivity, ensuring a holistic approach.
• Communicate ideas rapidly through sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models, and physical prototypes.
• Run design and engineering studies—solo and in teams—with the consumer experience as the north star.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a team culture that treats failure as a learning opportunity.
• Stay close to IP development, identifying novel and inventive solutions alongside R&D.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a closely related field.
• 2–4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design.
• Hands-on experience designing electromechanical products in a product development environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience with plastic part design, including injection-molded, silicone, and rubber components.
• Comfortable in the lab: building prototypes, running tests, reporting findings, and determining next steps.
• Strong communicator—able to sketch ideas and defend them in engineering reviews.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in consumer goods or household appliances.
• Experience designing sheet metal components.
• Familiarity working with IP teams to identify novel or inventive solutions.

Pay

Annual salary range: $78,000—$137,500 USD.
