Mechanical Engineer II [Hybrid]

Responsibilities

  • Support the company with the design of complex HVAC systems.
  • Prepare 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit.
  • Design automatic temperature control systems complete with control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
  • Prepare documents, calculations, and energy modeling studies for the LEED certification process.
  • Coverage design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
  • Plan project production process.
  • Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review, and contractor assistance.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • EIT or PE preferred.
    • Previous experience with Revit.
    • Three to Seven years (3-7) Experience in the HVAC consulting business including large air handling, chilled water, and hot water systems design.
  • Education & Licensure:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
    • Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD, etc.).
    • Experience 4+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.
    • Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
  • Leadership & Management Skills:
    • Capable of guiding junior staff and leading internal reviews.
    • Able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Communication & Business Skills:
    • Skilled in preparing reports, proposals, and client communications.
    • Comfortable representing the firm to clients for smaller projects.
  • Supervisory Responsibility:
    • No direct reports but may mentor junior engineers or interns.

Work Environment

  • Office-based with regular site visits; must adhere to safety requirements.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  • Site visits may involve ladders, uneven terrain, and varied weather.
