Responsibilities
- Support the company with the design of complex HVAC systems.
- Prepare 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit.
- Design automatic temperature control systems complete with control sequences, diagrams, and points lists.
- Prepare documents, calculations, and energy modeling studies for the LEED certification process.
- Coverage design efforts working closely with our in-house disciplines, architectural clients, and building owners.
- Plan project production process.
- Perform contract administration duties of site visits, submittal review, and contractor assistance.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- EIT or PE preferred.
- Previous experience with Revit.
- Three to Seven years (3-7) Experience in the HVAC consulting business including large air handling, chilled water, and hot water systems design.
- Education & Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Relevant professional licensure or certification preferred (EIT, PE, CPD, FPE, RCDD, etc.).
- Experience 4+ years of engineering experience in the AEC industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Revit and discipline-specific software.
- Strong grasp of building codes and design standards.
- Leadership & Management Skills:
- Capable of guiding junior staff and leading internal reviews.
- Able to balance multiple priorities effectively.
- Communication & Business Skills:
- Skilled in preparing reports, proposals, and client communications.
- Comfortable representing the firm to clients for smaller projects.
- Supervisory Responsibility:
- No direct reports but may mentor junior engineers or interns.
Work Environment
- Office-based with regular site visits; must adhere to safety requirements.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods, use standard office equipment, and occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs.
- Site visits may involve ladders, uneven terrain, and varied weather.
