Overview

Scope
The Engineer at REV Fire is responsible for all stages of a product, from research and development, through design, test & evaluation, manufacturing, to aftermarket care and warranty support. The Engineer is a subject matter expert and is relied upon by other employees and customers for technical guidance and support.
Essential Functions

- Design, Design Verification and Validation
- Manufacturing and customer support
Other Duties May Include
- Ad-hoc production line or customer support as needed to maintain operational flow or resolve specific customer problems.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 3 years practical experience in a similar engineering position.
- Expert in 3D CAD systems and tools –SolidWorks, Auto CAD, Inventor or equivalent.
- Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience and ability to rapidly translate concepts into buildable models and designs both independently and as part of a team. Ability to rapidly develop detailed drawings, 3D models, and bills of materials for parts and assemblies.
- Required engineering skills include both analytical and “hands-on” abilities.
- Extensive knowledge of applicable NFPA, ULC, FAMA, DOT, FMVSS and other regulatory guidelines.
- Extensive experience in fire apparatus design, documentation, and lean manufacturing expertise in three or more of the primary functional areas: Aerials, Bodies, Cabs, Chassis, Electrical, Applications, Plumbing or Systems.
- Skilled in technical calculations and analysis.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes with emphasis on metal fabrication / assemblies. Experience with and ability to apply DFM methodologies to deliver robust engineering packages emphasizing productivity in the manufacturing process.
- Able to provide troubleshooting guidance to Field Service and Manufacturing technicians.
- Experience with Supply Chain activities and ability to work directly with Tier II and III suppliers.
- Able to work independently, collaborate, or lead as needed on functioning teams.
