Mechanical Drafter
Contract to Hire position based in Dallastown, PA.
About the role
As a Mechanical Drafter, you will create design drawings utilizing design layouts, models, and other information for manufacturing purposes. Your role is crucial in supporting CAD Designers by crafting working drawings for basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications.
Responsibilities
- Create design drawings for manufacturing using design layouts and models.
- Support CAD Designers with working drawings for shelters and modifications including rack, ECU, entry panel, lighting, and power distribution installations.
- Understand and implement customer Technical Data Package requirements.
- Incorporate changes into existing drawings.
- Adhere to all CAD standards and procedures.
- Meet CAD schedules and budgets.
- Review drawings to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Follow configuration requirements for documentation control.
- Collaborate with other departments to support projects.
- Contribute to product improvement, standardization, and department projects.
- Resolve diversified and somewhat complex problems.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years technical training or equivalent experience in design and drafting.
- Proficient in 2D CAD.
- Experience with SolidWorks.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with peers and supervisors.
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
- Understanding of standard precautions and personal protective equipment use.
Work Environment
The work environment is manufacturing-based, requiring adherence to workplace rules and the ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary. The role involves standing, sitting, and performing repetitive motions. Employees should be comfortable in a proactive and dynamic setting.
Pay
$31.25 - $31.25/hr.
