Mechanical Drafter

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Drafter to create and modify detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using SolidWorks. This role supports engineering and manufacturing projects, and involves collaborating with engineers and project managers to ensure drafting assignments are completed accurately and on schedule. The position also requires preparing, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Algona, IA.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure drafting assignments are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Utilize Microsoft Office 365 applications to organize, track, and communicate project information effectively.
• Incorporate feedback and design changes by reviewing and revising drawings as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks for mechanical drafting and 3D modeling.
• Familiarity with ERP Systems for inventory, material tracking, and work order creation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience in mechanical drafting preferred but not required.
• Ability to work effectively within a smaller team, offering diverse product exposure.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
