About the role

McMAHON-BAEK ARCHITECTURE is currently seeking an Architectural Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to work in their studio located in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

• Production of sketches and construction documents
• 3D modeling and rendering for concept design and presentations
• Prototyping for custom fabrication
• Physical modeling and production of mock-ups
• Detail design for carpentry, millwork, plaster, metal, glass and stone
• Understanding the impact of building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical) on the final built form
• Ensuring the quality and success of projects through detailed design and fabrication techniques

Requirements

• Experience working in a collaborative environment
• Demonstrated ability to produce documentation for built projects, organize information, and manage workflow
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills
• Ability to work independently and self-monitor progress
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, at least one 3D modeling program, at least one 3D rendering/visualization program, and Adobe products
• Structural and detail design experience a plus

Qualifications

• Professional degree in Architecture
• US work authorization required
