Position Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring the overall quality of the boat, including safety verification, regulatory compliance, functional and cosmetic checks, and on-the-water performance verification.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Perform inspections at specific checkpoints and accurately record results.
- Be cross-trained in all inspection points, including safety verification, regulatory verification, functional verification, and cosmetic verification.
- Ensure all boat options and functions are checked and operate correctly.
- Conduct audits in all areas to support improvement activities.
- Train, certify, and operate a crane/lift.
- Show general knowledge and understanding of required power tools.
- Work in and around boats/molds throughout the day in a team-oriented manner.
- Able to stand and work in a fast-paced environment while wearing all required PPE and following safety policies.
- Practice good housekeeping by keeping work areas clean at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED with at least two years of experience in manufacturing.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read, interpret documents, and write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Physical demands include continuous sitting, frequent standing, walking, and occasional driving.
- Lifts and carries up to 50 pounds frequently, 15 pounds occasionally, and 30 pounds occasionally.
- Uses hands for repetitive activities, pushing/pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Works in a safe environment with safety glasses always worn.
