MBA Online Lecturer
About the role
California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) seeks a Lecturer to join the Department of Business Administration. The position is open until filled and offers flexible scheduling options.
Responsibilities
- Instruct/facilitate 10-week and/or 5-week, asynchronous courses.
- Initiate, organize, and execute Zoom-based synchronous sessions with students.
- Ensure your classroom is fully set up one week prior to the start of the term.
- Respond to student direct questions within 48 hours.
- Encourage student participation in discussion areas by posting at least 3 substantive responses per forum weekly.
- Keep your electronic grade book current and post grades within one week after the end of each week.
- Provide individualized qualitative feedback on student assignments.
- Attend virtual COB faculty in-services, training, and meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree earned from an accredited university.
- Good teaching performance demonstrated by student evaluations or other acceptable evidence.
- At least two semesters of successful online teaching in a business program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of successful teaching in a graduate business program, including at least two semesters of online teaching.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to CSUMB's Vision.

Compensation
The full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. For a three-unit assignment, typical starting compensation ranges from $6,608 to $7,465 per semester. CSU Salary Schedule CSUMB provides pay scales representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for this position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, and CSU systemwide pay for comparable jobs.

Application Procedure
This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. The number of positions varies from semester to semester, depending on the needs of the Department. Appointments from the pool are temporary and do not confer tenure. The pool will remain in place for two academic years; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond that time must reapply.
