The Penfield Central School District is seeking a math tutor to assist a student with disabilities in preparing for Pre-Calculus and reteaching areas of skill gaps in Algebra and/or Geometry.
About the role
This position involves providing one-on-one tutoring sessions at PHS starting immediately for 12 sessions, each lasting 1 hour. Dates and times will be determined with the student and family.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the student for Pre-Calculus
- Reteach areas of skill gaps in Algebra and/or Geometry
Requirements
- Strong background in mathematics, particularly in Algebra and Geometry
- Ability to work with students who have disabilities
- Experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication skills
- Patience and empathy
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual needs
- Flexible schedule
- Competitive hourly rate of $40 per hour
