Math Tutor

About the role

Studentnest is hiring tutors for the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) in Huntington Beach, CA. The position starts on June 26th and runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Tutoring 8th-12th grade students in Math
• Adapting lessons to meet individual student needs
• Maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 60 units of college credits with at least 1 year of tutoring experience in Math
• Proficiency in high-level math (Pre-Algebra, Geometry/Algebra 2)
• Ability to complete fingerprinting process within 48 hours of an offer
• Pass DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance requirements
• Provide 3 professional references
• Have a minimum of 60 units of college credits
• Have at least one year of student-related experience
• Be detail-oriented and highly dependable
• Be an effective communicator
• Have reliable transportation
• Provide a negative tuberculosis test within 6 months of being hired

Pay

Pay rate: $22 per hour standard, $23 per hour if bilingual (Spanish or other preferred language based on site request), $24 per hour if credentialed teacher or certificated tutor.
