Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently maintains stocks supplies in Bulk Stores for receipts from vendors and issues to customers.
- Accurately and efficiently delivers supplies and equipment to customers in a timely and courteous manner.
- Makes supply rounds on the units daily.
- Fills orders for case carts and delivers to Operating Room.
- Restocks crash carts after use.
- Processes all in-house printing, copying, and assembling of manuals when necessary.
- Maintains adequate department supply levels to meet the need of the customers.
- Processes outgoing & incoming mail.
- Restocks warehouse with supplies accurately in appropriate locations.
- Handles supplies and equipment to ensure sterility and infection control when applicable, i.e. (sterile strays, supplies with expiration dates, and replenishment of isolation supply carts.)
- Takes initiative to assist patient care staff with identification of supply needs and available alternative when requested.
- Maintains a neat and orderly storeroom.
- Demonstrates compliance with Christiana Care and departmental policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, infection control, attendance and dress code.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as the need arises.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma
- One year of hospital experience or commiserate experience in material handling, must have involved in working with patient care supplies.
Physical Demands
- Frequent walking.
- Frequent lifting and placing of stock on shelves or in their designated locations within the warehouse.
- Frequent lifting of filled supply orders and delivery to requisitioned areas.
- Frequent pushing of carts from storeroom to patient care areas.
- Must be able to push supply carts on wheels, weighing up to 500 lbs. into nursing units.

After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
