Responsibilities
The Materials Coordinator provides professional support in the areas of supply processing, distribution, purchasing, receiving and inventory management. The primary objective is to manage and control the flow of supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposition. Responsibilities include:
- Placing material/implant orders
- Organizing tissue logs and checking expiration dates
- Restocking supplies and monitoring upcoming surgical cases
- Communicating with representatives and organizing loaner equipment
- Assisting colleagues with moving equipment in and out of OR rooms between cases
- Performing other activities in support of clinical team members when not engaged in coordinating materials
- Assuring that department operations adhere to guidelines per the state, accreditation and all other agencies
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- Two years of experience as a health care materials coordinator preferred
- Skills of planning, organizing and prioritizing
- Computer skills / EPIC understanding preferred
- Working knowledge of logistics, business ethics, math and business management
