Materials Coordinator - Surgical Services - Lakeshore Surgicare

Essential Functions

• Manages the procurement, storage, and distribution of surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment to support daily operations.
• Maintains inventory levels, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing supply shortages.
• Collaborates with vendors, supply chain personnel, and surgical staff to ensure cost-effective purchasing and availability of essential materials.
• Ensures compliance with hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and infection control standards related to surgical supplies.
• Collaborates with clinical teams to forecast supply needs and optimize inventory management practices.
• Conducts routine inventory audits and cycle counts to verify accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
• Oversees product recalls, substitutions, and backorders, communicating updates to surgical teams as needed.
• Utilizes inventory management systems and electronic health records (EHR) to track supply usage and generate reports.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, or surgical services support preferred.
• Strong understanding of surgical supply chain processes, inventory management, and procurement best practices.
• Proficiency in inventory management software, electronic health records (EHR), and supply chain systems.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to manage supply levels effectively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical and non-clinical teams.
• Ability to analyze supply usage trends and recommend cost-saving initiatives.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements related to surgical materials.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data reporting tools.
