About the role
The Material Coordinator position is based at the Energy North West site. Reporting to the Materials Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the procurement of various commodities, equipment, and services.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate material requisitions for a wide range of Nuclear and Non-Nuclear materials and services, including structural steel, piping, valves, electrical components, civil materials, tooling, chemicals, calibrated equipment, lifting devices, and PPE
- Create purchase requisitions with complete documentation, ensuring clarity in descriptions, quantities, quality assurance requirements, and special purchasing instructions, with appropriate project team authorization
- Serve as the primary liaison between the project team, engineering, and procurement to ensure timely and quality compliant material purchases aligned with project schedules
- Support the project team in preparing subcontract packages for submission to the Subcontracts Coordinator
- Collaborate closely with the procurement team to develop reports and provide timely updates to the project team regarding material deliveries, associated delivery costs, and any expedite charges
- Monitor and expedite material deliveries as needed to support project timelines and identify critical site deliveries
- Manage receiving activities including inspection, inventory control, and SAP goods receipt processing
- Aid procurement with supplier recommendations for materials or services
- Provide material status updates to the Materials Lead
- Ensure responsiveness to operational needs while maintaining quality and reliability standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in the nuclear construction industry in a procurement or project coordination role
- Completion of a Materials and Operations Management program at the college or university level is an asset
- Enrollment in or completion of SCMP Accreditation Program is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Strong planning, decision making, negotiation, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Familiarity with the Bruce Power and/or OPG catalogue ID requirements is an asset
- Working knowledge of Nuclear Codes & Standards as they relate to procurement activities, such as ASME Section III, ASME NCA-4000, ASME NQA-1, CSA N285.0, & CSA N286-05, and CSA Z299 Series requirements
- Basic knowledge of other material/component codes and standards is an asset (e.g., ASME Section II, ASTM, & CSA)
- Knowledge of SAP is an asset

Pay
Hourly Range: $60.00 an hour - $85.00 an hour
