About the role

BlueLinx is seeking a Senior Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join their dynamic team at their distribution center. Ideal candidates thrive in a team-oriented environment that prioritizes safety and quality service.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Absorb and assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

Requirements

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Proficient and safe use of forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Qualifications

BlueLinx offers a fixed wage of $23.55 per hour, with a Monday-Friday workweek and a consistent schedule. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, a 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, generous paid time off (PTO), and 8 company holidays per year. The fixed rate is $23.55 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
