Material Handler Senior

Basic Understanding

Performs duties in shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Unloads trucks, compares received items to purchase orders to verify accuracy and quantity of shipment.
• Inspects materials for damage and defects and escalates issues to Supervisor.
• Uncrates and assembles materials if directed and removes and disposes of unneeded packing materials.
• Maintains adequate inventory of warehouse supplies.
• Affirms material discrepancies are handled in a timely manner.
• Affirms accurate issues on material requests and required systems processing occurs.
• Uses computerized inventory systems.
• Delivers materials to appropriate departments accurately and obtains proper authorization of delivered materials.
• Assists in preparing crates and other items to be shipped.
• Makes sure that items are properly tagged and labeled.
• May drive forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
• Prioritizes work and meets deadlines.
• Complies with all HSE regulations and requirements.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of warehouse layout and how to locate material.
• High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent preferred and/or training.
• Minimum three (3) years industrial experience.
• Knowledge of inventory parts and basic inventory management.

Physical Strain

• Bending, squatting, climbing, pulling, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at elevated heights.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
