Responsibilities
- Receives, fills, and ships products accurately and efficiently.
- Ensures the safe transporting and arrival of products, in a timely manner, to customers and other store locations.
- Operates basic power equipment to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products.
- Prepares orders by preparing trucks for shipments, palletizing and wrapping orders, loading pallets and pieces into trucks, and placing packing list in last skid.
- Maintains current accuracy and efficiency standards and follows all standard operating procedures.
- Participates in inventory cycle counts and other related projects.
- Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Prompts reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Maintains professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers by providing exceptional service that includes accurate and timely delivery of products.
- Serves as a key field contact for gathering accurate customer service and delivery expectations.
- Safely operates company vehicles and equipment consistent with DOT, state, federal, and company standards.
- Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicle(s)/equipment; refers defects, issues, or needs for repairs to the supervisor promptly.
- Loads and unloads trucks. Checks and verifies deliveries against sales and transfer orders.
- Completes manifest with pictures, signatures, and any returns by way of iPad or manual completion.
- Records sales and/or delivery information as applicable.
- Completes monthly driver log and any associated paperwork; ensures the vehicle is secured.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED; 1+ years of truck driving experience (26 ft vehicle or larger) or 1 year operating Johnstone equipment/vehicles under supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
- Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
- Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
Physical Demand
- Sit, stand, and walk on a concrete floor for much of the workday.
- Reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and carry and/or move up to 50 pounds and required to lift more weight with mechanical assistance or the assistance of team members.
- Sit for long periods of time and can experience bouncing and vibration.
- Talk or hear.
