Responsibilities
- Receives, fills, and ships products accurately and efficiently.
- Ensures the safe transporting and arrival of products in a timely manner to customers and other store locations.
- May be assigned various warehouse job functions including receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
- Operates basic power equipment in a safe and efficient manner to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products.
- Participates in inventory cycle counts and other related projects.
- Maintains current accuracy and efficiency standards and follows all standard operating procedures.
- Drives, route sequencing, order verification, loading and unloading orders into company/customer vehicle, return service, sharing feedback from customers, as well as maintenance, upkeep, and repairs of the company vehicles and warehouse equipment.
- Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Prompts reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Maintains professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
- Serves as a key field contact for gathering accurate customer service and delivery expectations.
- Maintains cleanliness of inside of truck, cab, box, and all assigned work areas.
- Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicle(s)/equipment; refers defects, issues, or needs for repairs to the supervisor promptly.
- Loads and unloads trucks. Checks and verifies deliveries against sales and transfer orders.
- Prepares routes and follows schedules and deadlines for delivery, shipping, receiving, and other related tasks.
- Drives straight body vehicles including box truck to deliver supplies and equipment to customer’s place of business, job site, or other Johnstone store locations.
- Immediately communicates delivery, traffic, safety, and customer issues to their supervisor.
- Completes manifest with pictures, signatures, and any returns by way of iPad or manual completion.
- Returns vehicle at the end of day, verifying it is fully fueled; completes monthly driver log and any associated paperwork; ensures the vehicle is secured.
- Returns gas receipts, monies, vehicle inspection logs, and any other paperwork necessary.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED; 1+ years of truck driving experience (26 ft vehicle or larger) or 1 year operating Johnstone equipment/vehicles under supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
- Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
- Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
