Material Coordinator III
About the role
The Materials Coordinator III supports our warehouse and materials management operations. Key responsibilities include assisting with material handling, organizing inventory, responding to material requests, implementing lean principles, and supporting quality control.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel to move materials and supplies.
- Organize and label materials to maintain an efficient warehouse environment.
- Maintain inventory levels and report shortages or surpluses.
- Complete daily inventory cycle counts and address discrepancies.
- Respond promptly to material requests and replenish stock as needed.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuously improve workflow.
- Track material movements and generate reports for decision-making.
- Support quality control teams during inspections and audits.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Communicate with production, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7+ years operating material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Forklift certification within 60 days of employment.
- 7+ years experience as a Water Spider, Material Handler, or in a related warehouse coordination role.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to handle materials and perform tasks involving standing, walking, lifting, and reaching.
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles and inventory control concepts.
- Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems and software.
- Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in tracking and recording material movements.
- Problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues and ensure continuous material availability.
