About the role

The Engineering Technician coordinates and schedules TMDE tracking, maintenance, and load tests for equipment such as thermometers, lab (bench) weights, and gauges.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct TMDE Asset tracking, yearly maintenance scheduling, repair orders, data collection, repairs, and updates to the U.S. Army Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Activity (USATA) Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment Integrated Materiel Management System (TIMMS) Listing.
  • Comply with Army regulation 750-43.
  • Maintain files of TMDE assets in an internal database.
  • Follow all internal and external procedures/SOPs.
  • Input and track the monthly report from USATA and record accordingly.
  • Perform on-site pick-up and delivery of TMDE assets throughout the Center and to the APG-North USATA Lab (TSL).
  • Assist with proper labeling of devices, including DA Label 80, DA Label 163 (Limited or Special Calibration), Calibration Not Required (CNR), and Calibration Before Use (CBU) labels.
  • Track and record USATA “On-Site” (Center) testing and scheduling; may require escorting USATA Technicians.
  • Track third-party ISO Certification Testing of CBC TMDE Assets.
  • Keep, file, and record all TMDE (USATA & ISO) Calibration Certificates.
  • Perform database entry and cataloging within the internal database.
  • Follow directions from Supervisor and Government Leadership; work independently and as part of a team while adhering to policies.
  • Support customer schedules for repairs and annual requirements.
  • Maintain records for accountability and audit standards.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers; collaborate to build professional working relationships.
  • Identify safety concerns to Supervisor and other required stakeholders.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to Government Lead when requested.
  • Provide and assist with required monthly data to Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix.
  • Ensure all administrative functions/paperwork (receipt documentation, work orders, internal paperwork) are completed on time and in the required format.
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite; be attentive to detail.
  • Support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the U.S. Army.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Calibration (TMDE) experience, an Associate of Arts Degree, and an active CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • OR minimum of 4 years of Calibration (TMDE) experience, a High School Diploma/GED, and an active CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • OR served in the U.S. Military and retained a Logistics – Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) in a related capacity for a minimum of 3 years, and an active CLASS C Driver’s License.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license without special restrictions.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical, and periodic retests.
  • Must successfully complete a background check.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain it for the duration of employment.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • 60% of work occurs in an office setting; mostly stationary.
  • 40% of work involves retrieving, delivering for testing, and returning TMDE Assets, which may occur in all types of weather, warehouses, and labs, requiring bending and standing.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a minimum of 50 lbs.

Pay

Hourly Rate: $24.30
