About the role

Justice Resource Institute (JRI) supports the Department of Youth Services (DYS) by placing qualified Clinical Directors and Clinicians in their Northeast, Central, and Southeast programs. This position is based on the DYS Southeast Campus in Taunton, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Write and produce a comprehensive assessment document on a newly committed youth.
  • Maintain a caseload of newly committed youth within the assigned Region.
  • Coordinate with health, educational, clinical, caseworkers, parents/guardians, etc. as part of the DYS assessment process.
  • Consult and participate in treatment or review meetings when appropriate.
  • Provide clinical support to the DYS programs, when needed, throughout the Southeast Region.
  • Work with program management teams to provide stable and supportive environments for youth.
  • Facilitate groups (such as DBT and substance use) and assist with clinical case management including assistance with intakes of new residents.
  • Receive clinical supervision and support towards licensure.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Master’s Degree in a clinical discipline such as Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, and/or Psychology.
  • Masters level candidates must currently have, or be eligible for a LMHC or LCSW/LICSW in Massachusetts.
  • Experience working with adolescents and their families is strongly preferred, though relevant experience or a strong desire to work with this particular population may also be considered.
  • Knowledge of/experience in crisis stabilization and management, and knowledge of DBT and CBT.
  • Experience assessing and making recommendations around mental health and/or substance use needs, family functioning, and trauma related difficulties.
  • Experience with suicide prevention and intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of bias and racial disparities experienced by youth and families in the juvenile justice system.
  • Knowledge of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and other cognitive-behavioral therapies; Comprehensive training in DBT will be offered.
  • Flexible schedule to meet the needs of families.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Acceptable driving and state/federal background checks.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $63,000 to $68,000 per year. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
