Master Control Tech

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate professional to join our team at Youth Opportunity Investments - Lake Parrish Youth Academy, a nationally recognized leader in residential and behavioral health services for youth. Our programs provide trauma-informed care, structured support, and individualized services to help young people build stability, develop life skills, and prepare for their next steps.

About the role

This position is responsible for the monitoring and control of facility access, ensuring the safety and security of youth, staff, and the facility. Team members play an important role in helping youth develop positive coping skills, strengthen social and independent living skills, and work toward successful outcomes through connection, consistency, and care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control facility access, including the entrance and exit of visitors.
• Document visitation, off-site trips, and appointments for youth and staff.
• Authorize, monitor, and document youth movement within the facility.
• Monitor video systems and perform perimeter checks at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Communicate emergencies to appropriate staff and notify supervisors of critical paperwork, court orders, or other important information.
• Log all staff entering and leaving the facility and monitor fence, fire, and security alarms.
• Place and answer calls, remembering names of facility staff, locations, and program routines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with at-risk youth or in a monitoring/control role in an institutional setting.
• Ability to think and act independently with advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Must be in good physical health and emotionally stable.
• Must be able to move about the property, participate in youth activities, and transport youth or staff.
• Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that data is attainable under the law.
• Must pass PAR evaluation of physical techniques and written certification exam.
• Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license.
• Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
