About the role
The Massage Therapy Program Adjunct Faculty is responsible for providing didactic and clinical instruction in the Massage Therapy program. Teaching responsibilities include classroom lectures, lab work, and clinical supervision in a face-to-face format with online supplements.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in Massage Therapy.
- Supervise students in simulated and community outreach clinical experiences.
- Maintain an active Maryland Massage Therapy License.
- Support departmental, divisional, and institutional initiatives through collaboration.
- Maintain scheduled availability for student consultation.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance in labs and clinical rotations.
- Comply with all college and accrediting body regulations and policies.
Requirements
- Valid Maryland State Massage Therapist License.
- Five (5) years of professional experience in massage therapy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be physically capable of lifting 45 lbs and moving massage equipment.
- Availability for evenings, weekends, and community outreach events as needed.
- Teaching experience preferred.
Working Conditions
- Environment: Indoor setting.
- Physical Requirements:
- Standing or walking for up to 2/3 of work time.
- Sitting for up to 1/3 of work time.
- Lifting up to 45 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent talking and hearing required.
- Vision: No special vision requirements.
