About the role

Citi’s Full-Time Analyst program in Markets Quantitative Analysis (MQA) starts in the Summer of 2027 with orientation and training. This 2½-year program is highly competitive and selective, designed to introduce recent graduates to Citi’s Equities, Foreign Exchange (FX), Rates, Commodities, and Spread Products franchises. Analysts gain exposure to senior professionals who serve as mentors throughout the program. At the end of the program, Analysts are placed in roles that align their skills and interests with the firm’s needs.

MQA at Citi develops and implements mathematical models and analytical tools for pricing, risk management, and trading strategies across various asset classes. Professionals collaborate with traders, structurers, and risk managers to provide quantitative expertise and support critical business decisions. The role involves analyzing market data, developing algorithms, and building software to enhance trading performance and manage risk effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Build tools and models that assist traders and clients in pricing, hedging, and structuring securities.
  • Provide critical information and advice for managing risk across all market trading units.
  • Research and analyze market trends for both internal and external clients.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of financial markets.
  • Utilize quantitative methods to model market behavior.
  • Use data science techniques to analyze large-scale market data.
  • Trade and/or structure exotic derivatives or design trading algorithms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (excluding MBAs) in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Graduating between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 with a GPA of 3.3 or above.
  • Excellent mathematical skills, particularly in data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Python, SQL, or C++.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing AI models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to seeking new and creative ideas.
  • Self-starter who thrives both independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to personal growth and career development.
  • Unwavering commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; proficiency in a second language is advantageous.

Full-time salary range: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00.
