About the role

Citi is seeking Summer Analysts to join the Citi Markets – Quantitative Analysis (MQA) team in New York City. This program combines traditional financial engineering principles with the latest machine learning and data science techniques to design and develop quantitative solutions and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Work on quantitative modeling desks and complete summer projects highlighting the importance of quantitative methods.
• Present results to senior leadership at the end of the Summer Program.
• Participate in weekly speaker events with product heads to gain a deeper understanding of the Markets industry.
• Engage in a business-wide Data Science competition.
• Attend various networking events to meet junior and senior level professionals.
• Shadow multiple quantitative trading and structuring desks to learn from professionals.

Requirements

• Obtaining a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (graduating in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028) in Quantitative Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Excited to work in the New York office.
• Current GPA of 3.3 or above.
• Excellent mathematical skills, particularly in Data Analysis and Statistical Modeling.
• Strong programming skills in C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience designing, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence models and machine learning algorithms.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and intellectual curiosity.
• Enthusiasm, quick thinking, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Confidence, comfort, and clarity in oral and written communication.
