Marketing Technology Manager

About the role

The Marketing Technology Manager serves as the lead strategist and day-to-day manager for the firm’s marketing technology platforms, including the website, intranet, CRM, email marketing tools, analytics platforms and related digital communication systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary manager and subject matter resource for the firm’s marketing technology stack, including the CRM, website, intranet, email marketing platform, analytics tools and related systems used to support marketing and client development efforts.
  • Contribute to the firm’s broader strategy for leveraging technology to create efficiencies, improve collaboration, strengthen internal processes and identify new opportunities for client development and business growth.
  • Manage all aspects of the firm’s CRM database and associated technologies, including, Pardot, Introhive, Power BI and other related platforms, with responsibility for maintenance, implementations, integrations, reporting, policies, procedures and training.
  • Play a key role in identifying, evaluating, recommending, implementing and deploying new technologies that support marketing and client development efforts, including tools related to experience management, pitches and proposals, business development intelligence, relationship mapping and campaign performance.
  • Develop comprehensive reports, dashboards and actionable insights that help internal marketing teams, attorneys and attorney teams make informed decisions related to events, client development initiatives, pitches, proposals, public relations opportunities and other business development pursuits.
  • Proactively identify trends, opportunities, relationship insights and data-driven recommendations that can be used to support attorney teams, strengthen pursuit strategies and help the firm compete more effectively for new work.
  • Partner with marketing team members, attorneys and support staff to translate data and analytics into clear, practical guidance that supports outreach, follow-up, targeting, cross-selling and client relationship development.
  • Maintain and improve data quality across marketing technology platforms by regularly analyzing, updating, cleaning and reviewing data for accuracy, consistency and completeness.
  • Create, update, maintain and document firmwide guidelines, processes, data standards and best practices to promote consistent use of the digital marketing platforms by all users and data sources.
  • Provide training, guidance and responsive support to marketing team members, attorneys and support staff on CRM use, reporting, mailing lists, analytics tools and other marketing technologies.

  • Optimize website content to improve visibility, usability and search performance; provide regular reporting on website, email communications, blog and campaign analytics.
  • Work directly with marketing department team members, attorneys and support staff to create and maintain mailing lists in the firm’s email marketing platform and CRM for newsletters, announcements, events, alerts and other communications.

  • Support the firm’s visibility on third-party websites and assist with digital communications initiatives that strengthen the firm’s brand and market presence.

  • Perform other select marketing, client development and business development duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of database, CRM, marketing technology or related digital marketing experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a law firm or other professional services firm is a plus.
  • Technical, Systems & CRM Expertise: Experience managing CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, reporting tools and related integrations.
  • Experience with digital media and marketing tools, including content management systems, WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEO, HTML, email marketing platforms and similar systems.
  • Advance computer literacy skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and template-based SaaS products such as Concep, Constant Contact, Mailchimp or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with digital analytics tools and developing reports or dashboards that inform marketing, client development, or business development strategy.
  • Strong understanding of CRM platforms, with the ability to manage data, reporting integrations, workflows, user adoption and training.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn data into meaningful insights, recommendations and opportunities that support marketing, client development and business development objectives.
  • Collaboration & Professional Effectiveness: Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a complex, fast-paced law firm environment, and collaborate with all marketing department team members.
  • Proactive, Solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, identify opportunities and help team members and attorneys use technology more effectively.
  • Project Management & Organizational Skills: Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects, manage competing demands and move initiatives forward and minimal supervision.
  • Highly organized, efficient, responsive and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to data accuracy, process improvement and client service.
  • Communication & Relationship Management: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to users with varying levels of technical experience.
  • Ability to maintain strong vendor relationships and coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external technology partners.
