About the role

Vanguard is seeking a strategic and client-focused marketing leader to shape and drive the go-to-market strategy for its Personal Wealth retail business. This role sits at the intersection of client, product, and business strategy, translating complex business priorities into clear, effective marketing approaches that drive growth, engagement, and differentiation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement a multi-year marketing strategy for Personal Wealth to expand distribution, engage and retain clients, and meet business goals with a positive ROI.
  • Act as a strategic marketing advisor to Personal Wealth business leadership by building relationships, offering insights to guide business direction, and ensuring full accountability for marketing.
  • Guide matrixed marketing teams with clear strategies and foster collaboration to ensure effective campaign delivery.
  • Provide strategic oversight for B2C spinal functions including channel, operations, creative, marketing technology, and analytics.
  • Lead Personal Wealth Marketing's shift from product-forward to audience-centric marketing strategy to connect growth and engagement campaigns and deliver a cohesive client experience.
  • Manage the marketing budget, including media, FTEs, and infrastructure, and collaborate with teams to optimize spending and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Build and maintain business and partner relationships across the enterprise to extend the impact of marketing through a connected sales funnel.
  • Create and manage operational processes for Marketing Managers, that enables consistency and effectiveness with which the organization develops and delivers strategies.
  • Support department-wide efforts to improve speed to market, uplevel marketing analytics capabilities and tools, and accelerate personalization at scale.
  • Lead and develop a team of marketing strategists – leaders and individual contributors – setting direction, driving accountability, and delivering against strategic goals. Strengthen leadership capability and team effectiveness through coaching, mentorship, and removing obstacles.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of marketing experience.
  • Deep expertise in the investment and wealth management landscape, with a track record of building and executing consumer-facing strategies aligned to market trends, competition, and client needs.
  • Proven strategic marketing leader with measurable business impact, able to develop, execute, and communicate plans that position offerings and drive results.
  • Strong analytical and business acumen, using data, market insights, and financial understanding to inform acquisition and retention strategies and optimize marketing ROI.
  • Trusted advisor to senior leaders, delivering strategic insights and innovative thinking that shape decisions and business direction.
  • Broad marketing expertise across digital, content, brand, and positioning, with the ability to leverage experts to advance and optimize initiatives.
  • Leads and influences matrixed teams, driving alignment, engagement, and results through strong communication.
  • Highly collaborative, building strong cross-functional relationships and distilling complex information into clear, actionable insights.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies for financial services companies.
  • Proven track record of successful campaign execution and measurable business impact.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to inform marketing strategies.
  • Experience with marketing technology and analytics tools.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

This role is currently available on a hybrid schedule, combining both remote and in-office work options.
