MARKETING OFFICER (Junior Admin Officer) Range AMEA / 12

The Marketing Officer

Open to the general public and any current Municipal employee. This position is represented by the Anchorage Municipal Employee Association (AMEA) Union and is subject to the provisions of the current agreement between the Municipality of Anchorage and the AMEA.

Department Library Hours of Work

• Tuesday through Saturday 7:30AM-7:00PM
• Remote work schedule opportunities (telecommuting) may be considered after successful completion of probation, at the discretion of management and with the approval of the department head.

Location: Loussac Library, 3600 Denali Street

Responsibilities

• Developing original content for both print and digital projects using current design software and web-based services;
• Producing and publishing engaging creative content on all APL's social media platforms;
• Representing the department at various outreach events virtually and/or in-person;
• Contributing ideas for future marketing campaigns;
• Other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and experience in the field related to the position.
• Or Associate’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar discipline and two (2) years of experience in the field related to the position.
• Or High school diploma, GED or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in the field related to the position.

Must possess at time of hire:

• 3 years social media content creation experience (may be volunteer)
• 3 years of video content creation experience (may be volunteer)
• 3-5 years graphic design experience for print and digital (may be volunteer)

Employment is conditional based on a satisfactory background check which includes criminal, education, and employment history.
