About the role
The City of Hampton is seeking a Marketing Manager to lead dynamic marketing efforts for the Hampton Coliseum, The American Theatre, and The Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns for events, classes, and programs.
- Manage media buys, advertising budgets, sponsorships, and promotions.
- Oversee digital presence, including social media, email campaigns, and websites.
- Supervise marketing staff, providing mentorship and performance feedback.
- Build community connections and foster brand consistency across venues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent experience in marketing and/or public relations.
- Marketing experience for public assembly facilities hosting a wide range of entertainment events is preferred.
- One (1) year of supervisory experience.
- Experience implementing modern management methods by incorporating long-range planning techniques and exhibiting leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
Additional Requirements
- Experience in negotiating media buys, media placements, and preparing documents for invoicing and settlement.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to include Word, Excel, databases, presentations, and Adobe Photoshop.
- Knowledge of a variety of social media platforms and use of these platforms in a professional environment.
- Knowledge of website content management software.
