Position Summary
TAMI is seeking a creative, organized, and community-minded Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator to lead our social media presence, plan and support public events, and help tell TAMI’s story across email, web, and video.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create, and schedule content across TAMI’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and others), growing engagement with archive audiences across Texas.
- Write and send regular email newsletters and campaigns to donors, members, and the public.
- Cook up and promote logistics for TAMI events, including screenings, community outreach events, and fundraisers.
- Update and maintain website content, including event listings, blog/news posts, and featured archive collections.
- Edit short-form video — trailers, social clips, and event recaps — drawn from TAMI’s archival footage and original footage.
- Support storytelling efforts that highlight donors, collections, and community partners across marketing channels.
- Track basic engagement metrics (email, social, web) and adjust content strategy accordingly.
- Represent TAMI at community events and build relationships with partner organizations, media, and audiences.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or a related field (internships count).
- Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand.
- Basic video editing skills (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar).
- Strong writing skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple projects independently in a small-team environment.
- Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events.
- Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact).
- Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Drupal).
Preferred
- Interest in Texas history, film/media preservation, or archives.
- Experience working at a small nonprofit or cultural organization.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $40,000–$50,000 annually, based on experience.
- Schedule & Flexibility: Hybrid structure with a standard 35–40 hours per week (roughly 80% in-office / 20% remote flexibility).
- Requires occasional evening or weekend hours for public events, with flexible scheduling (comp time) offered when hours exceed 40 in a week.
- Generous paid time off: 140 hours of vacation and 35 hours of sick leave annually.
