About the Role

The Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a creative, energetic, and results-driven Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the Chamber's storytelling, content creation, digital engagement, and member-focused marketing and communication efforts. This position plays a critical role in increasing awareness of the Chamber's mission, programs, advocacy efforts, events, and its members’ success stories. The ideal candidate is someone who knows the intersection of marketing and communication, has a passion for creating compelling content that drives engagement, strengthens relationships, and demonstrates the value of Chamber membership. The Marketing & Communications Manager will serve as the Chamber's primary content creator, storyteller, brand ambassador, and communication lead. This role requires someone who can think strategically, execute independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and consistently identify and share stories that showcase the impact of the Chamber and its members.

This position reports directly to the Vice President of Membership and works closely with Chamber leadership, staff, members, volunteers, community partners, and outside vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Chamber's storytelling, content creation, digital engagement, and member-focused marketing and communication efforts.
  • Increase awareness of the Chamber's mission, programs, advocacy efforts, events, and members’ success stories.
  • Create compelling content that drives engagement and strengthens relationships.
  • Serve as the Chamber's primary content creator, storyteller, brand ambassador, and communication lead.
  • Think strategically, execute independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Experience in communications and marketing fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, exercise efficient time management, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with sales, social media platforms, and small events or other marketing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, communications, management, marketing, or other related field(s) is preferred.
  • W.A.C.E Academy graduate or U.S. Chamber Institute graduate preferred but not required.

Pay

$70,000
