Marketing and Tourism Officer
About the role
The Marketing & Tourism Officer will be responsible for communicating the City of Alvin's story and promoting and overseeing the day-to-day marketing operations of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). This position handles media relations, special projects, oversight of content on the city website, and oversight of the city's social media platforms. The role involves curating and crafting content about various departments, employees, programs, and initiatives within the organization and collaborating with community partners.
This position reports to the Communications Manager and is classified as an "Emergency Essential" position. Employees may be required to remain or respond during emergency conditions (pre-impact, emergency period, or post-impact/recovery) to perform duties directly related to the emergency as determined by the City.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, tourism, hospitality, or a related field with at least two years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of experience and education that provide the required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Valid state driver’s license.

Pay
Hourly rate of $27.90.
