What You Will Do

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Operations/Marketing & Strategic Planning, the role of the Marketing & Communications Specialist is to assist with the advertising and communications of the Firelands brand across multiple platforms. This may include:

  • Coordinating advertising and media placement as determined by the Vice President
  • Organizing special projects, including brochure development, flyer and rack card creation, other print projects
  • Holding routine press releases and media relations
  • Cooking design of digital signage, transit buses, pole banners and more
  • Updating physician directories
  • Aiding with internal communication strategies

What You Will Need

  • Minimum of an Associates’ degree with 3+ years marketing and communications experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Proper grammar and writing skills a must
  • Ability to think creatively and a willingness to test new ideas
  • Knowledge of marketing processes, including planning, public relations, advertising, proofreading, writing, etc.
  • Strategic planning experience a plus
  • Works as a team player with other members of the Marketing Department
  • Ability to function with flexible work schedule. Willingness to work evenings/weekends, as required
  • Personal computer skills a must including Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Ability to maintain orderly files, records and reports
  • Demonstrates good judgment in uncertain and unusual situations
  • Demonstrates the ability to tactfully handle different situations at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with people at all levels of the organization and representatives of outside agencies/firms
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple projects at once, manage and prioritize work assignments and meet strict deadlines
  • Punctual attendance at assigned work location is required
  • Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy
  • Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request
  • Ability to maintain a positive impression of Firelands Regional Medical Center at all times, and handle sensitive telephone and face-to-face inquiries
  • Ability to understand instructions and to effectively communicate in both written and oral form
