Ascent Studio is seeking a creative and strategic marketing professional to intentionally develop and execute marketing strategies that grow the business and encourage increased member engagement and event participation. The ideal candidate has a passion for climbing and a deep understanding of local climbing culture. This role is central to how our community sees, hears, and connects with Ascent Studio, offering space for creativity, humor, and fresh ideas.
Responsibilities
- Email & Digital Marketing
- Create and distribute a monthly email newsletter.
- Build targeted and segmented email campaigns to promote youth programs, adult programs, events, camps, youth teams, and membership sales.
- Maintain email list segmentation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
- Oversee and grow Ascent’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) by creating content that builds community engagement, promotes events, and bolsters community partnerships.
- Maintain a regular pace of social media activity.
- Use tools like Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite to track performance and optimize marketing efforts.
- Establish a review and approval process for marketing communications, ensuring alignment with Ascent’s brand standards.
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns supported by digital advertising on platforms like Google and Meta.
- Digital Graphic Design & Illustration
- Design promotional graphics for email campaigns, social media, events, programs, and in-facility signage.
- Handle photography and videography, as well as collaborate with other photographers and videographers for major events.
- Maintain engaging internal signage and digital displays.
- Occasionally create illustrations for retail apparel, leagues, and competitions, and manage a small team of designers for events and branded merchandise.
- Website Support
- Update website (WordPress) content to ensure it is fresh, relevant, and aligned with business goals.
- Coordinate with other managers for website updates.
- Community Engagement
- Build relationships with local businesses and community members to support partnerships and promotions.
- Ensure Ascent Studio participates in local community events to broaden brand awareness (e.g., Bike to Work Day, Open Streets, Food Truck Rally).
- Develop strategies to make donations to local schools and non-profits effective marketing tools.
- Reporting & Organization
- Report to the leadership team about marketing engagement metrics.
- Actively participate in management meetings to align marketing efforts with broader organizational goals.
Qualifications
- Strong graphic design and digital content skills, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong organization, time management, and independence.
- Creative mindset with attention to detail.
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, focusing on digital marketing, content strategy, or brand management.
- An avid rock climber with at least two years of climbing experience, deeply connected to the climbing community and culture.
- Experience managing paid ads (Meta Ads, Google Ads) and analyzing performance data.
- Knowledgeable in SEO, GEO, web analytics, and optimizing content for engagement and conversion.
- Comfortable managing websites via WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
- Proficient with social media management tools and email marketing platforms.
- Skilled writer capable of creating compelling social media posts, email campaigns, and website copy.
- Proven success in driving growth through strategic marketing campaigns.
Pay
Projected salary range: $58,000–$63,000 (DOE).
