The Carpet, Paper & Packaging Solutions (CPP) group is dedicated to being the number one provider of dispersion and resins solutions to customers in the carpet, paper, printing, and packaging industries. This role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team focused on driving profitable growth in a mature market with established competitors and customers. The plastic-to-paper packaging trend and new regulations present new opportunities, supported by strong industry relationships and technical leadership.
As the Market Segment Manager, you will set the growth strategy, develop the strategic roadmap, and lead its execution with sales, technical, and functional teams. Responsibilities include conducting market research, translating insights into tactical executions, managing the innovation pipeline, and driving measurable impact on segment volume and margin. Travel up to 25% domestically may be required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement market segment strategies in partnership with Sales and Technical teams.
- Analyze and segment markets, assess competitive and customer landscapes, and develop roadmaps for sustainable and differentiated innovation.
- Manage existing portfolios to optimize profitability and positioning, identify industry trends, unmet customer needs, and key growth opportunities.
- Lead innovation and business development projects from ideation to successful product launch using entrepreneurial drive and project management skills.
- Design and execute the segment’s channel strategy, including go-to-market plans, sales tools, and training/promotional materials for existing and new products.
- Collect, validate, and maintain market and competitive intelligence for the assigned industry segment.
- Partner with Product Management to ensure accurate industry-specific pricing targets are implemented.
- Organize and participate in customer and industry trade shows, and ensure representation in key industry associations.
- Utilize AI and digitalization to establish new business models, sales channels, and improve efficiency.
Requirements
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial drive.
- Ability to prioritize for impact across multiple topics and projects.
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and project management skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset; experience using AI/digitalization for new business models or efficiency gains is preferred.
- Experience in marketing, sales, product management, technical service, business development, business management, or related business functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred.
