Manufacturing Technician I
About the role
The Leonardo DRS Land Systems business is a recognized leader in the design and integration of complex technologies into new and legacy systems and platforms for global military and commercial customers. We are a 5-year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area.
Responsibilities
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly and rework.
- Some test and repair of various electronic products and mechanical assemblies.
- Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches and running sheets of significant complexity.
- Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment.
- Design and/or test prototype assemblies and production units.
- Capable of performing related manufacturing processes.
- Interpret and follow documents such as SOPs and safety rules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification.
- Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD (Electro Static Discharge) practices.
- Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals.
- Must have good hand and eye coordination.
- Demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, stoop, climb, kneel, and bend for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to access and work within restricted spaces in and around vehicles when necessary.
- Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus.
- Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including MS Office.
- Experience with MRP a plus.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $38,774.00/year - $48,468.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity.
