About the role
Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine, repetitive tasks in the Process Department (thin & thick film labs) to manufacture substrates and elements. The selected candidate must have the ability to perform the essential duties & responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain thin & dry film equipment.
- Prepare substrates for thin & dry film deposition by cleaning, etching, and other surface preparation methods.
- Thermal trim; dicing; element deposition/processing; substrate etching.
- Etched copper monitoring tolerances.
- Resistor rod adjusting/trimming/testing and preparation for downstream processing.
- Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and well-maintained, following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and materials, ordering replacements as necessary.
- Assist in meeting daily production requirements throughout the process area.
- Communicate effectively with team lead to discuss production plans, results, and any issues encountered.
- Inspection/packing of thin and dry film components.
- Electrical compliance testing of manufactured substrate components.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
- Mechanically inclined including ability to use microscope and measuring tools such as calipers, multimeter.
- Familiar with laboratory control procedures, chemical safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, geometric dimensions, and tolerances.
- Preferred knowledge of micro or macro photo fabrication of elements.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
