About the role

Located at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on the shores of beautiful Lake Eufaula, Alabama, the Manufacturing Technician assists in the installation, maintenance, and effective operation of various surface mount technology (SMT) placement machines, PC board assembly process equipment, and test systems used in Engineering and Production.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronics manufacturing equipment and systems such as surface mount technology (SMT) placement, PCBA process and test equipment, and other process-related equipment.
  • Apply principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing.
  • Operate bench drills or other machine tools to fabricate parts, such as SMD part feeders and machine chassis.
  • Check functioning of equipment in the PCB manufacturing assembly and/or testing areas to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
  • Set up, maintain, and/or calibrate equipment on a regular or as-needed basis.
  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, inspect, and rework various production subassemblies.
  • Work with others to streamline process flow and reduce waste.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of procedures.
  • Promote company safety policies, workmanship standards, and operational procedures among team members while displaying strong quality consciousness at all times.
  • Keep supervisor informed of any situations that may be detrimental to production, quality, or safety goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics engineering technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an electronics manufacturing technician within a consumer goods or printed circuit board environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in effectively troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems.
  • Broad understanding of production processes.
  • Skills and abilities in mechanical dexterity, assembly, manufacturing, soldering, and inspection.
  • Knowledge of electronics process and procedures.
  • Skills in reading, understanding, and adhering to engineering drawings, documents, and procedures.
  • Ability to function as a team while completing multiple tasks effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to recognize equipment/tooling malfunctions to detect irregular or deficient product.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to drive corrective actions with minimal supervision.
  • Above-average computer literacy and math abilities.
