Manufacturing Technician

This position will begin with ChampionX and transition to SLB as part of a planned integration following their acquisition of ChampionX.

About the role

This is a safety-sensitive role located in Broken Arrow, OK. You will perform technical tasks under the direction of an engineer or manager, supporting engineering projects, troubleshooting production equipment, and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical tasks under the direction of an engineer or manager
• Support engineering project fabrication, machining, and assembly
• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment of various types
• Interact regularly with vendors and co-workers
• Document assembly steps and maintain records for company and customers
• Follow all safety policies and company-wide safety requirements
• Read and follow written and/or verbal directions
• Use a computer to communicate, create, and access information

Requirements

• One year of experience with:
  • Performing mechanical assembly work
  • Operation of manual lathe/mill
  • Welding (GMAW, SMAW, and GTAW)
  • Interpreting machine drawings and electrical schematics
  • Basic understanding of single and 3 phase electrical
  • Working knowledge of hand & power tools, overhead crane
• Speak, read, and write English fluently
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as required
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check

Physical Demands

• Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly
• Potential travel: up to 20% (domestically)
• Requires Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, hearing protection, and respirators
• May require standing, walking, stooping, sitting, bending, twisting, grasping, lifting, or climbing
• Requires visual and hearing acuity
• Activities occur indoors and outdoors, including:
  • Extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour
  • Hazards: Proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, or exposure to chemicals
  • Atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
  • Potential air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids
